The 5 Best Movies to Watch High
There are many comedies but some are just way more hysterical when stoned. In fact, this list is one I feel is a list of movies that were made with the stoner in mind. I have included a couple of newer movies, some classics you may not have heard of and a couple of compilations by one group or director that specialize in entertaining stoners. Grab the bong and the popcorn and allow us to direct you to the funniest and the 5 best movies to watch high.
Movie 43 Netflix
This flick is a new Netflix release that is so over the top that it got a terrible rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The reason for that is the critics hated it. Why? Well, there are two reasons. The first reason is the movie is outrageous and offensive. And secondly, these reviewers probably never smoked a joint in their entire lives. Movie 43 is a star-packed comedy with a dozen mini-stories that are too insane to even describe.
The actors read like a who’s who of A list Hollywood superstars. A few actors include Dennis Quaid, Seth McFarland, Richard Gere, Dane Cook, Hugh Jackman, Jonny Knoxville, Emma Stone, Uma Thurman and much more. Each skit is funnier and more insane than the one that precedes it. If you like locker room humour, gross jokes and stoner humour go to Netflix tonight.

Monty Python’s Holy Grail
No stoner movie list would be complete without a tip of the hat to the genius that is Monty Python. They had the funniest and most outrageous comedy show in England in the 1970s. It wasn’t long until they took the States by storm and went on to make some of the funniest movies ever made. The movies are as funny today as they were back then.
They were incredibly profound and political and remain just as relevant today as they did when they came out. Monty Python isn’t one movie they had a string of hilarious movies including The Holy Grail, The Life of Brain and The Meaning of Life. But I picked the Holy Grail which is a spoof on King Arthur guaranteed to make you vomit from laughing too much. However, all are brilliant and take on the State and the Church and challenge society with over the top laughs and hilarity. These movies are so rich with classic scenes that you can get stoned and watch them over and over and laugh just as hard.
The Pink Panther
The Pink Panther movies are also comedies from the 1970s starring Peter Sellers as a goofball and clumsy detective that is so stupid he actually solves crimes accidentally. If you smoke a joint before this movie you will be rolling on the floor screaming laughing before you get to the second scene. The humour is super slapstick over the top.
Peter Sellers’ character Inspector Clouseau is funny in every minute of every scene, from his outrageous accent to his clothing to his constant bumbling and faux pas’. The Pink Panther had a franchise of about a half a dozen movies. They are all the same and it’s hard to separate one from the other. So, get a big bag of weed and watch them all.

Cheech and Chong Up in Smoke
Cheech and Chong invented stoner humour. Their movies are all about smoking weed and the hijinks that ensue whilst stoned. Like Monty Python and The Pink Panther, these guys made a string of similar movies that are all legendary. But it was Up in Smoke that put them on the map. These guys were real groundbreakers. They were doing these movies when pot was very illegal.
In fact, many movie theatres would not even play their movies. They faced jail time and legal action constantly. But they prevailed. And they made the movies that wanted to make. And the central character in all their movies was marijuana. The movies may seem a bit dated now as movies have been pushing the envelope for so many decades. But these guys started it all. And I can guarantee you that you will laugh.
Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction
Most of you will be familiar with Pulp Fiction as it is one of the newer movies on our list. I avoided the typical stoner movies like Dazed and Confused and Pineapple Express in order to bring you some deeper cuts that you may not have heard of previously. This is not to say that these movies don’t belong on the list. They easily could have been put on here and are well worth watching while stoned.
But Tarantino is a step above. If you watch Pulp Fiction while stone it’s like being in an action-packed gangster cartoon of sorts. The stories and timeline and All-Star ensemble make this one of the best stoner movies ever. This flick has it all, from drugs, to the mafia, to Medieval raping, to fast-paced action chases and more. If you like watching movies stoned Pulp Fiction is the perfect fit that can be enjoyed over and over. Tarantino also has another eight movies that could easily make this list. Watch them all.
